Museums in Mysore



Mysore is one of the famous tourist spot of Karnataka because of its rich heritage and historical significance. The city sometime consider as a twin City of Bangalore also.The road  distance between Bangalore to Mysore is 150 km and one can reach here in 2 hours via 4 lane Mysuru Bangaluru expressway. 


There are so many places to cover in Mysuru but in this post  I will list only few famous museums of Mysuru..which is worth to visit.

1. Upside down museum (Grs fantasy park)

One can experience an entirely different world as soon as they enter the Museum. It has 12 rooms including kitchen, dining hall and living room set up — that is all ‘upside down.’

 Nineteenth century car and scooter model, table, chair and other furniture attached to roof is sure to attract the visitors



The creativity to design the rooms is remarkable. Staff are assign for each visitor to take the photographs

Children - 249/- INR

Time 10.30 to 7 pm all day 
 you must include this in itinerary to have some awesome creative photoshoot of yours and get amazed with the ulta pulta world 🌍 

The whole museum trip will take only 1.5 hour  max to cover . 

So next you can  plan the very old heritage museum of Railway. Located very close to Mysuru Railway station 🚉 

2. Rail museum, Mysuru 

This museum is one of the oldest and most popular railway museums in India, and showcases the rich and diverse heritage of Indian railways. From vintage locomotives and royal coaches to interactive simulators and toy trains, the museum has something for everyone.

The Rail Museum in Mysore is located near the Mysore Railway Station, on KRS Road.

The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 5:30 pm. It is closed on Mondays and national holidays.


Ticket price 
Price - 50 INr for adult ,20 INR for kids above 5 years . (Only cash)

A mini train operated by battery takes the visitors out for a joy ride on the museum grounds too. 


There is cafeteria also run in one of the coaches, so u can enjoy your favourite food at train also. 

The Rail Museum Mysore showcases visitors with an engaging exploration of India’s railway history and presents a variety of trains, photos, and paintings illustrating the evolution of railways in India. Railway museum is a wonderful place to visit, especially for kids to learn about Railway History and science behind the railways.
