Weekend getaways from Bangalore - 

Devarayanadurga hills, also known as DD Hills, is a great place for trekking lovers and it provides a spectacular panoramic view of lush green hills from the top. Located in the Tumkur District, this place is about 60 km from Bangalore .As name suggested its a place of god .There is   two main temple along with beautiful view of hills. One is   Yoga Narasimha temple on the top of the hill and Bhoga Narasimha temple on the base of the hill. By the time we reached this place the temple was closed and we had witness a great sunset view from the top.

The easiest way to reach Devarayana Durga is to travel on the Tumkur highway and deviation you have to take ahead under the flyover

You have to climb around 200 steps from the car parking area, to find the  Yoganarasimha temple, in Chola architectural style. As you climb the steps, you would experience the amazing beauty of nature along with a cool breeze to relax your mind and soul.

If you like trekking, step up beyond the temple premises, you would really have some more captivating experience of nature .

Best season would be monsoon and winter where you can witness the beauty of hill at full bloom with clouds keep on coming to touch ur soul.

Pack your food from home as there are no good hotels/restaurants around the place,

You would find street vendors selling chats/bananas/cucumber etc around car parking area

- Beware of monkeys since they may snatch your eateries or food
