The moment we hear Kashmir " the majestic snow covered mountain with pine trees ,dal lake with shikara ,A warm cup of Kahwah Tea and warm Kashmiri pulao start revolving around our minds. The favorit shooting location for most Bollywood movies फिर चाहे वो "कशमिर् कि कली , रोजा हो, बजरंगी भाईजान हो, या जब तक है जान !,The kashmir has lured everyone with its Natural beauty. The main Travel destination comprised of three place (Sonmarg /Yusmarg, Gulmarg , Pahalgam and Sringar) .In my previous post ,we have seen the Srinagar city ..but if u want to see the real kashmir ,the kashmir which is shown in movies . You have to travel these three destination which is located in three different di

rections/roads .

Sonmarg being an hill station, is inaccessible during winter due to heavy snowfall and avalanches. Due to which we have covered only glacier of Thajiwas and activity area and Sindh River view . Sonmarg is a gateway that connects Kashmir with China. It provides a base camp for Ladakh too . During summer either with pony ride or by trekking you can go up to the border and can enjoy the feel of leh Ladakh too. The drive to Sonamarg during winter is very dangerous. Special cab with chained wheel is permitted only to go further after Gagangir to avoid skidding. We too changed our vehicle from this place and hired small sumo kind of cab . Gagangir is just 15 km away from Sonmarg .People here in kashmir are very helpful and you will not find any problem going anywhere .Our Driver was very helpful in bargain hard everywhere, where his cab was not allowed internally. But again Bargaining in tourist place is hard .☺️

What to do in Sonmarg Trekking ,Camping ,adventurous activity (sledge, snow biking, atv , pony ) Photography,Shopping, Trying Local Food etc. Album also cover - Drang water fall Drang is another recently discovered tourist station in the beautiful Valley of Kashmir. It is located on Gulmarg road, just 3 km away from Tangmarg.Drung looks so much more beautiful in the winters. I can stare at the frozen waterfall all day long 😍

Quick tips - 1. Boots and warm cloths are available on Rent . place name Gagangir with nominal charge of 100/- Rs per day . 2. The charges for one sumo with sledge ride (to and fro ) to main point, boots and one guide we have paid Rs1500/- per head.(total we were 8 in group excluding kids) 3. For sking we have paid Rs.200/- for 5 Rounds . 4.Please note ,Here in Kashmir there is a Tip system where people will ask you for extra tip apart from the above package. Its up to you if u want to give them with happiness. 5. Kashmiri local people were very helpful and through out they helped us in climbing ,walking in snowy path .While talking to many locals during such helps came to know ..they used to come from far village(approx.20 km) by walk as there is no public transport.
